Stronger Solano, for generations to come

Walkability is key to having a relationship with your surroundings and the community you reside with. Using a car for 100% of transportation needs creates a literal barrier between you and your neighbors. Having a denser, more easily walkable neighborhood design deeply resonates with me. It can foster more Third Spaces, as well as deeper human connection.
In my journey, I’ve discovered a deep passion for agriculture and preserving our land. Yet, I’ve also come to realize the importance of balancing this passion with the pressing need to serve our communities. Through organizations like California Forever, I’ve found a way to merge these two passions seamlessly. By advocating for sustainable agriculture and land preservation that benefit our communities, I believe we can create a future where both our environment and our neighborhoods thrive.

We love our Fairfield home because it’s by the hills but I love this project for my kids. Hopefully with CA Forever they’ll be more enticed to move closer to home while providing the opportunities for good jobs and just somewhere nice to live.

I think that California Forever is a great idea. It will bring more local people to purchase goods and services which should be a good thing.

As the CEO and Founder of The Coach Sarna League, which includes an NFL Flag Football League and a LEGO STEM League, I am a strong supporter of the California Forever initiative for Solano County. Our league mission is to never turn a child away due to finances, and so because of this we have firsthand knowledge of the economic desperation of so many Solano County families. The plan to create thousands of good paying jobs will forever change the lives of so many Solano residents.

I will be voting yes for to California Forever because it will bring so much life to Rio Vista. I am excited about the new jobs it will bring. I am excited for my daughter to grow up in Rio Vista and have a new community to enjoy with her friends. I am just simply excited.
Lets build this and bring a new look and opportunities to everyone.

New community, hospital, homes, and schools. Count me in! This will bring job opportunities to our community. I can’t wait.
California Forever is a necessity for our County.

As a young(ish) professional returning to my hometown after living in Chicago for the last 5 years, I was disheartened to find a lack of opportunities and amenities in Solano County, including significant barriers to home ownership. I truly believe that California Forever can offer those opportunities and more. I am excited to see what this future holds for all of us.

I’m excited to see a new city being built on today’s technological prowess and capabilities.
I think it’s important for us to have a new community between Rio Vista and Fairfield where all the things we have to go out of town for will be located just 5 miles down the road. My husband and I own the Rio Vista Holistic Health Center and many times we have to send people to the hospital out of town, maybe for X-rays, but more importantly for emergency cases that need urgent care. We are a small clinic and don’t have everything. I urge you to vote yes.

Voting ‘Yes’ on this Project or Plan, gives us the chance to reach back, to say, “This time, we’re making our own opportunity.” For stability, for jobs, for that dream of a better life in Solano County. When the ballot comes out in November, I’m not just voting ‘yes’ for a project. I’m voting for us; for our families, our futures, and for the endless possibilities that lie in what we can achieve together. Let’s make this happen!
Having grown up in Rio Vista, I have always loved the area and community. I left for better education and employment opportunities, but would love to one day move back. I have long felt that Solano County needs significant investment and I think California Forever can provide that. I would love to one day open my own studio practice where I can support local artists and teach art to the community, and the new town through California Forever seems like a great opportunity for this.
California Forever is a game-changer for local restaurants and small businesses. By promoting housing, employment, and clean energy, we’re laying the groundwork for a resilient society where businesses can excel. This initiative is about pragmatic growth for local entrepreneurs to prosper, as well as the importance of raising a family in a safe community.
Building opportunity for all
A brand new city…
With well-paid local jobs
By bringing new employers to Solano County, in industries like advanced manufacturing, defense, and agricultural technologies, we make sure that many Solano residents can have a shorter commute.
That’s walkable
Our goal is to create a walkable city: a place where children can walk to school alone, seniors aren’t isolated by car-dependent living, and every neighborhood is anchored by local shops and restaurants.
Where all are welcome
Creating an inclusive city that integrates all types of homes from starter homes on up, for sale and for rent, in the same neighborhoods. A place that ensures working families can stay in California.
With highest sustainability standards
Our modern infrastructure can be built with world-class sustainability. Imagine a city that can fully recycle water, recharge our aquifer, reduce vehicle miles traveled, ensure fire-resistant building, and support climate resilient living.

California Forever CEO Explains Plans to Build a New Community | Pivot

We believe California’s best days lie ahead.
California Forever was founded to bring back the California Dream – a chance for families to own their own home and build a future for themselves and their children. Unfortunately, when we surveyed Solano parents, 81% said their kids won’t be able to find a future in their own neighborhood when they grow up. Solano is falling behind.
Instead of watching our kids leave, we have the opportunity to build a better future with jobs, homes, and new energy sources to make sure that younger generations have the same opportunities as those who grew up during California’s decades of growth and optimism.

-
What kind of a city are you building? Is this some kind of tech utopia?
We are trying to build a place that says “yes” to things – a place to build the things that Solano County and California need. New industries that bring good paying jobs. New energy infrastructure to support the region. And walkable neighborhoods for Travis AFB airmen and their families, young families, people who work in the city, and the next generation of Solano residents. In the new city, we expect to build all of the uses one would find in a medium-size city like Fairfield, Vacaville, or Vallejo: homes of different types, offices, commercial and industrial uses, restaurants, small businesses, hospitals, schools, cultural venues, parks, and more. The community will be surrounded by parks, open spaces, and greenbelts. The zoning map for the new community.

What does this mean for Travis Air Force Base? How close will you be to Travis Air Force Base?
The project will make Travis AFB stronger, by bringing in new advanced manufacturing, defense, and aerospace employers to Solano County, by building homes that airmen can afford, and by creating new job opportunities for military spouses.
We have worked hard to adjust the project to support Travis’ vital mission, and on February 15th, Travis AFB issued this statement which reads: “California Forever made significant changes to its plans in order to protect Travis’ global mission and local flight operations. With this revised proposal, Travis AFB will be able to continue flying its full mission, including all of our operational, exercise, and local training flights consisting of multiple patterns and landings to all runways, including night vision goggle training to the assault landing zone (ALZ) runway.”
The statement then adds: “Travis AFB recognizes California Forever’s efforts to minimize impacts to operations and mission capabilities, as well as their project’s potential to improve the wellbeing of our Airmen and families into the future.”
The new city will not impact the mission at Travis Air Force Base because it will be much farther from Travis AFB than Fairfield or Suisun City. They’re about a mile away, while the new city will be at least 4 miles away. The new city is entirely outside official Travis AFB noise and crash zones.
We are committed to working closely with the Air Force to make certain that we protect and support the base.

How will this new city affect agriculture in Solano County?
We intentionally located the new city on non-prime farmlands. The entire 17,500 acres that the new city would be located on contribute less than 2% of the total agricultural revenue of Solano County, based on information provided by Solano County in the official Livestock and Crop Reports from 2020-2022.
See this Blue Sky Consulting Group report for details and calculations, which indicate that the entire 17,500 acres contribute roughly $6 million of the total $385 million of Solano County’s agricultural revenue – i.e., approximately 1.6% of the total.
We are planning on building greenhouses and vertical farms in the Industry & Technology zone which utilize the latest, most water-efficient farming techniques to make more food with less resources. A single large greenhouse or vertical farm can produce between $10 million and $40 million in annual agricultural revenue.
We therefore believe that the new city will increase, not decrease, Solano’s agricultural production.
