Press Kit for the Solano Ship Yard Complex

Restoring America’s shipbuilding strength is now a national priority.

The bipartisan SHIPS for America Act  and the President’s establishment of the White House Office of Shipbuilding have made one thing clear: rebuilding America’s naval and commercial shipbuilding capacity is a national security imperative. In defense, the U.S. is ramping up production of surface ships and submarines. In commercial shipbuilding, leaders across party lines agree that America must once again produce the ships that power global trade and economic resilience.

We propose a clean, modern shipyard complex in southeastern Solano County—three miles east of Collinsville, across the water from Pittsburgh’s industrial waterfront. While still in the early stages, the proposal has already earned support from local leaders, elected officials, and industry groups.

The Solano Shipyard is a generational opportunity. If realized, it would create tens of thousands of high-quality jobs. Not just along the waterfront but across Solano County and the Northern California region, as new supply chains and manufacturing hubs emerge to support the endeavor.  Read our full statement here.
